It gives me great pleasure to send this message to SLCOG on a very special occasion – The 50th anniversary of SLCOG being celebrated by the Golden Jubilee Congress 2017.
Congratulations to all the senior Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of Srilanka, who toiled and worked hard to make SLCOG what it is today and to the young leaders for sharing their enthusiasm and continuing the legacy of their elders.
SLCOG has proven its credibility and should be rightly proud of its many achievements but specially its demographic indicators, which show the progress in maternal health.
The theme of the conference“Improving Women’s Health: Past Experience & Future Agenda” is a futuristic approach towards women’s health. I am sure the conference will have a lot to offer regarding future planning for women’s health. I also am keen to see what role can Srilanka play in South Asia in helping other countries of the region in successfully achieving their goals for improving the health of women and reducing the burden of maternal mortality.
It is heartening to see all the key players of our specialty coming together at the conference making it more vibrant and exciting, providing an ideal opportunity to share ideas and meet the experts from around the world.
I wish the conference a great success and look forward to once again experiencing the scenic beauty of Srilanka and its lavish hospitality
